Emotions - what to do?

Why do we go through so much emotions trying to find love in this world? Is it really worth going through emotional rollercoasters just to find out the person you've been with and wanted so much to be the 'right' man in your life, isn't really the one??

After my relationship ended in 2006, I decided to stop dating for awhile. One betrayal after another, it was enough for me to stop it all. I needed a break to figure things out and concentrate only on myself.

A year later, to my surprise, I actually wanted to start dating again. One night, I met a man who's 6'3", dark and was the finest man I've seen in a long time. But I was too intimidated to strike up a conversation...figured he was taken and if he wasn't, why would he be interested in me? Somehow we ended up talking to each other and he actually asked me to get together sometime. I was so excited because I could feel that there was something very different about him.

One thing led to another, and we've been dating for the past 8 months. The more I got to know him, the more I realized how intelligent and different he was. He has almost all the qualities I wanted in a man....with one exception, he's so hard to get through. After his last relationship and previous personal situations, he's built a huge wall up protecting his heart and has been quite negative about getting 'in too deep' in reationships. I know, some people would this this was BS. But if you know him, you'd know that it's not.

Lately, I feel things between us hasn't been right....we're not connecting like we used to. He not as affectionate and has been distant.

Once again, I'm going through emotions because I thought, finally, here's someone that I could potentially see myself with for a very long time. I never thought I would find a man like him in my life. But things between us hasn't been right.

Lately, bad thoughts and dreams about him and his ex has been replaying in my head (she's been wanting to get back with him and I know she's had a huge impact in his life a year ago). I can't tell if it's my gut giving me these feelings about him, or it's my insecurities taking over.

What do I do?

Answer Job Interview Questions

At one time or another most of us will have to go through a formal interview with a company that has a job opportunity we are interested in. The interview is probably the most difficult part for most people because there is always apprehension about what questions will be asked and how they should respond.

The way in which applicants answer job interview questions will greatly determine if they get the job or not. Applicants should be confident in their responses and project professionalism throughout the interview, and answer job interview questions truthfully and respectfully, not to say that some personality should not be projected, but should be kept inline with that of the interviewer.
Preparation is the key in order to answer job interview questions correctly and appropriately. There are many online sites that are available to applicants to help them get through the interview process successfully. Important points to keep in mind before the time comes to answer job interview questions, is that plenty of research about the company and the position being applied for should be conducted thoroughly before the interview. The interviewee should anticipate what questions will be asked of them, and answer them correctly when asked without trying to bluff their way through the interview. Professional interviewers can spot a bull****** a mile away! This will not win points and could end the interview immediately. The best way to answer job interview questions is honestly and directly.

Applicants who are serious about getting the job should never go to an interview unprepared and arrogant, just assuming that they are going to get the job on their good looks and fabulous charm. If the interview is not taken seriously, then it is assumed that the job won’t be either. To answer job interview questions effectively, the interviewee must be confident and ask questions in return showing the interviewer genuine interest in the position. The interview is preparation meeting opportunity, and it is usually the only chance that applicants have to demonstrate why they are the perfect one for the job. Practice interview questions aid in preparation so that when the time comes there is no self doubt. The result will be the ability to answer job interview questions with confidence and professionalism (and with no jitters!). For more information on how to successfully make it through an interview and get that dream job contact me or see more at the links below.

These sites have great suggestions on the subject of interviewing and how to come out on top! Good Luck!!

Health Benefits of Sleeping on Silk Pillowcases by Susan Pinckney

Have you noticed creases on your face in the morning! This is a dead give away as to which side of your face you were sleeping. The Chinese have known for Centuries the Health Benefits of Sleeping on Silk Pillowcases - as Silk is the nearest thing to human skin known to man - it contains a natural protein and 18 essential amino acids. Studies show amino acids can counter the effects of aging especially in the facial skin and can help calm the nervous system. Silk also contains natural cellular albumen, which helps speed up metabolism of skin cells - thus helping to reduce signs of aging.

Silk Charmeuse is a natural heat regular Maintaining body temperature. It does not conduct heat or static electricity like other fibres - heat is retained during cold temperatures and redundant heat is shed during summer temperatures. Keeping your skin cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

Silk is naturally hypoallergenic making it a must for allergy sufferers especially eczema, helping sensitive dry or itchy skin. That’s why babies and children would benefit from Silk by avoiding exposure to allergens and aiding restful sleep. Silk is also inhospitable to dust mites and naturally fire retardant.

Silk Charmeuse will not absorb natural moisture from your face and hair, or facial beauty creams while you sleep, unlike cotton, which is an absorbent fibre and draws moisture. Sleeping on Silk can help prevent thinning of the hair. Cotton causes more friction disrupting hair follicles as we move in our sleep leading to hair breakage and split ends. Because of its special weave Silk Charmeuse Pillowcases will prevent hair from tangling as we move in our sleep, they will also help keep our hairstyle.

Hair care specialists recommend the use of Silk Charmeuse pillowcases. Cotton may feel soft to the skin but its weave actually grips and tugs at individual strands causing damage and breakage. The effects of continuous contact with cotton pillowcases can tangle and ultimately ruin hairstyles.

Hair treated by bleaching, highlighting, colouring, chemical perms, blow drying and curling or straightening tongs are especially susceptible to breakage. For braided, chemically treated or normal hair, the use of Silk Charmeuse pillowcases reduces hair breakage, helps maintain proper moisture balance, protects hairstyles and eliminates most tangling. Silk Charmeuse is more comfortable and cooler than cotton and contributes to a good nights sleep.

Petite Modeling...when will it take off?

Calling all models, photographers, designers...when will fashion begin to accept petite models into their world? As an aspiring model, it's been a rough ride trying to make it in Canada... Besides the fact that I'm well below the average height requirement (5'3") and in a market that barely exist in Canada's 3rd largest Metropolitan.

Some might say that there are opportunities for models in western Canada. But the type of modeling I personally want to pursue is fashion, editorial and print. Not too much to ask for, is it? I've noticed the type of work that is available in central & western Canada for petite models is mostly promotional modeling. And once in a blue moon, those who had a chance to do a shoot for commercial or stock, might make it in local magazines or ads. What if a girl like me wants to walk the runway or be in an editorial spread? You can't make it there unless you're represented by a recognized agency. And what are these agencies requirements to even glance at your comp card or portfolio? You guessed it, you gotta be over 5'7", even for commercial work (of course, I'm only talking about models who are over 17 years old).

Sure, there are small fashion shows around that allow all types of girls to represent their line. But what I'm talking about is high-end fashion and seeing petite models in editorial spreads around the world. Just like plus size models, why can't there be petite models that walk the runway in New York, or in Paris?

I met a model named Giesele about a year ago. She is located in L.A (Cali, NY...you name it, she's there!) and is absolutely fabulous. Majority of her work are editorial. She is literally living my dream. And guess what? She is my exact age and height. I have also been told that if I want more work and advance my career in modeling, I need to relocate (meaning, get the heck out of Canada). Due to personal reasons, I decided to stay. Then after doing a shoot in Miami last year, I noticed the reasons why I should've. There are way more opportunities to work with amazing photographers, and more work to go around. If you meet the right photographers you'd notice that they're on a different caliber. The opportunities there seems endless, but the downside is that more opportunities = more driven models = more competition.

So, what do you think needs to be done for petite models to be part of this fashion world, especially in Canada? Considering the average female height in Canada and U.S. is approximately 163 cm (5'3.4"), it only makes sense to have petite models in this world. Even though there is a growth of petite models in the U.S., it's definitely not happening fast enough. At this rate, the trend won't reach Canada for another 20+ years!

Must Haves - Favorite Books & Music!

Here's a list of my favorite books and music of all times. I hope you all will have a chance to explore into these unbelievable items!

Favorite Books

  • Tears for Water by Alicia Keys: This book of poems inspired me deeply. 'Golden Child' is my favorite poem from this book. Ms. Keys has brought me strength through her words during one of my most devastating times in my life. Her words are so real and this is why this book has stayed so close to my heart. To this day, Tears for Water provides strength, courage and love to my life.

  • Blink by Malcolm Gladwell: This is one of the most fascinating books I've ever come across. Blink is about that first split second reaction you have to all things around you. It's about how fasts we make snap judgements on everything around us and how acturate that thought can be. Gladwell called this 'thin-slicing'. We first process information on a subconscious level, then we take that information and do more analysis on it. This then creates less acturate information for us to base our decisions on. This book is so well-written and thought-provoking that I could hardly put it down! Definitely worth reading!

  • The Secret by Rhonda Byrne:

  • Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides:

  • Angels & Demons by Dan Brown:

Favorite Music

Virtual embrace turned Real?

Have you ever heard of virtual hugs? Many of you would say yes. Now, imagine when someone sends you a virtual hug, you physically feel the warmth, pressure and length of their hugs...even their heartbeats. Sounds impossible right? Think again.

CuteCircuit's Hug Shirt is a washable high tech garment. When a friend sends you a virtual hug, your mobile phone sends a signal to your shirt via Bluetooth technology to replicate a distinctive hug from the sender.

This is an interesting invention and I'm not sure what to think of it. Just imagining myself walking down the street and getting 'virtual' hugs every few seconds, or minutes, seems a little strange...

The Hug Shirt was listed as one of the best inventions of 2006 in Time Magazine.

What is Love?

"When you truly care and love someone, you'd have their best interest at heart and ensure that they know through the ups and the downs, you will always be there, no matter how difficult the situation he or she may be going through. You'd respect their thoughts, opinions, feelings - everything, because you love them, and for some, you'd love them more than yourself.

What I don't understand is, how could a person still say they care and love you, after the lies & deceptions they have put you through? Especially when they've expressed to you they loved you with their heart and soul? Did they really love you to that level....or even loved you at all? I used to think so, but now I don't know what was real....

When someone has been in your life for awhile, especially when you've given all of you (mind, body and soul) because you believed in them and in your relationship.... can that love be ignored and think that it was never really there? Or was it only a figment of your imagination?

Back then, love to me was unconditional; willing to give your entire being; love is an appreciation of that sacrifice, a promise not to misuse it and a willingness to return it.
Now, I'm also wondering if it's just a state of mind....and since most minds are either in a state of confusion or state of denial...."

I wrote this a couple years ago, right after I had gotten out of an intense relationship. Everything I thought I knew at the time, had fallen apart. I was devastated because for the first time in my life, I had made future plans with someone I had cared about deeply.

I would love to hear your thoughts on what love is to you.

Cool Resort on the Island!

I had the opportunity to stay at one of the most beautiful resorts during my business trip to Vancouver Island this year. Tigh-Na-Mara is located at Parksville, BC. I loved my ocean view suite, the amazing food and the beautiful spa! What more can a girl ask for after a mind-draining work conference? A beautiful spa to go to, and a relaxing suite to rest in! The photo above was the view that I woke up to every morning!

The Grotta Spa is the largest resort spa in all of British Columbia. From their signature massage treatments to manicures, pedicures and hair services, this place has the ability to revamp your spirit!

By all means, this was no vacation since I worked my butt off all day...but I can deal with work when I have a beautiful place to relax in afterwards! If you are traveling West or looking for the perfect resort to stay in, I would definitely recommend Tigh-Na-Mara. You won't be disappointed!
